2.10  Miscellaneous Two-Letter Commands

Most "Sight" commands may be activated by selecting them from a menu.  However there are some routine that are not covered by menu commands.  Several, but not all of these routines act as toggle switches.  Others are simply routines that need little or no documentation.  In either case, these routines can be activated by using two-letter commands which may be entered virtually anytime the program is expecting you to enter data.  You may even enter these commands while in the middle of another routine without any major disruption to what you're doing.  Among these are:

Automatic Point Numbering

AN

This toggle switch activates and deactivates automatic point numbering.  You may also set Automatic Point Numbering on the COGO Configuration menu (KC - Section 5.04).

Clear (Text Output) Workspace

CW

This command clears the contents of the Text Output window.  Use it with caution as it clears the entire window.  You will be asked to confirm your intentions.  You can select and delete individual pieces of text in the Text Output window manually.

Edit Coordinates

EC

This routine code is a legacy command for the old Edit Coordinates routine from previous versions.  Now this command activates the Point Manager (PM - Section 6.09).

Job Heading

JH

This command inserts a Job Heading into the Text Output window.  The heading typically consists of the Windows log-in Name of the user running the program; the date and time the file was opened; the default distance unit used; the Vara value (if set); and a standard Page Heading (see below).

Names Output

NO

This toggle switch activates and deactivates the printing of point descriptions as well as prompting for those descriptions.  You may also set Print Point Descriptions on the Text Output Configuration menu (KT - Section 5.01).

Overwrite Protection

OP

This is a toggle switch that activates and deactivates point overwrite protection.  When "On," you will be prompted whenever you attempt to assign new coordinates to an existing point.  You may also set Point Overwrite Protection on the COGO Configuration menu (KC - Section 5.04).

Page Break

BK

This command inserts a printer Page Break into the Text Output window.

Page Heading

PH

This command inserts a Page Heading into the Text Output window.  The heading typically consists of:

Point      Bearing      Distance      Northing      Easting      Elevation

Titles may vary depending upon the Report Order settings and Naming Conventions set under the Local Configuration menu (LC - Section 5.05).

Print Input Data PI

This toggle switch activates and deactivates the printing of your input data.  You may also set Print Input Data on the Text Output Configuration menu (KT - Section 5.01).

Prompt for Point Names PN

This toggle switch activates and deactivates prompting for point names.  You may also set Prompt for Point Names on the COGO Configuration menu (KC - Section 5.04).

Print Elevations PZ

This toggle switch activates and deactivates the printing of point elevations.  You may also set Print Elevations on the Text Output Configuration menu (KT - Section 5.01).

Slope Angle Prompting

SA

This toggle switch activates and deactivates prompting for slope angles.  When "On," every distance entered is assumed to be a slope distance and you will be prompted for whatever data is needed to reduce the distance to its horizontal and vertical components.  The information needed will depend upon the Default Slope Type you have selected on the Slope Entry Configuration menu (KS - Section 5.02).  When this toggle is "Off," you will only be prompted for slope data on manually entered slope distances (see Distance Entries - Section 2.05).
