Config Menu
5.01 Text Output Configuration (KT)
FUNCTION: The Text Output Configuration menu controls the printed precision and other printing options for "Sight" Survey's Text Output window.
Activate the Text Output Configuration routine by picking from the Config menu; by pressing [Alt][O], [T]; or by typing the two-letter command KT at any data entry prompt.
CAUTION: Several configuration menu settings are dependent upon settings from other menus. For example, setting the directional units to Grads on the Local Configuration menu (LC - Section 5.05) will affect your options the CAD, Text Output, and Bearings Format menus. However, you must remember to click [Apply] at the bottom of the menu before any changes you make are accepted. Simply clicking on an item or changing a value does not change the setting unless you click [OK] or [Apply]. Clicking [Apply] will keep the configuration menu group open for multiple changes, while clicking [OK] will apply the changes and exit the menus. |
Printed Precision: Printed precision is nothing more than the number of places to which your printed numerical data will be carried out in the text output window. Printed precision in drawings is set under the CAD Configuration menu (CM - Section 5.03). Settings for printed precision have nothing to do with the internal precision of calculations.
Click [q] next to each field to set the precisions. Your choices are: Area - 0 to 6; Bearings - 0 to 3 (seconds value) , or nearest minute, or nearest degree in degrees; Grads - 0 to 6; Coordinates - 0 to 8; Distances - 0 to 6; Elevations - 0 to 6.
Printing Options: The Printing Options section contains three items which may be enabled or disabled with check boxes.
Print Input Data: When checked, Print Input Data includes your exact data entries in your text output. This is often helpful when entering field data for the first time, allowing you to spot data entry errors as they may occur.
The two-letter code PI can be used at any time to toggle Print Input Data between On and Off. |
Print Elevations: When checked, Print Elevations, includes point elevations and differences in point elevations in your text output.
The two-letter code PZ can be used at any time to toggle Print Elevations between On and Off. |
Print Point Descriptions: When checked, Print Point Descriptions includes 28 character point descriptions in your text output. (See also the Prompt for Point Description setting on the COGO Configuration menu (KC - Section 5.04).
NOTE: The two-letter code NO (for Names Output) can be used to toggle Prompt for Point Description between On and Off. |
