4.06  Refresh Layer List

FUNCTION:  The Refresh Layer List routine is used to scan the drawing and compile a list of layers contained therein.  The resulting layer list is used a variety of routines where layer selection is required. 

Activate the Refresh Layer List routine by picking from the CAD menu, or by pressing [Alt][C], [R].

NOTE:  If you are using the non-CAD interface, this option is not available to you.

After you have manually added layers to your drawing using only CAD commands (commands not initiated from within "Sight" Survey), you should issue the Refresh Layer List command to incorporate those layers into "Sight" Survey.  Also, if you change the drawing file attached to the job using the Project Manager (PM - Section 3.13), you should issue this command to update the layer list from the current drawing.

There are several "Sight" Survey routines that require the selection of a layer, and refreshing the list is the only way to make sure all drawing layers are available for selection within "Sight" Survey.  After issuing the command you will receive a confirmation screen.  Click [OK] to continue.  No further user action is necessary.

The Refresh Layer List routine is a manual procedure, but it also has an automatic counterpart.  Whenever you issue a Draw Field-to-Finish (FF - Section 6.33) command, "Sight" Survey will automatically refresh the layer list to incorporate any layers introduced by field-to-finish.
