Point Cloud comes with three point cloud engines, Carlson, 3DTK and Pointools. Point cloud setup allows the user to choose which point cloud engine to use. The table found in the Cloud documentation shows the different formats each engine supports. Clouds created or edited using the Pointools engine cannot be subsequently used with the Carlson or 3DTK engines.
Carlson: With the Carlson Point Cloud engine you can work with clouds up to 10-20 million points depending on your system.
3DTK: With the 3DTK Point Cloud engine you can work with clouds that have hundreds of millions of points.
Pointools: With the Pointools Point Cloud engine you can work with clouds that have hundreds of millions of points.
