This command allows you to create a list of material types with assigned layers, depths, and user-defined attributes. The information created here is used in the commands Material Quantities by Layer and Material Quantities by Select.
In the dialog shown here, four materials have been defined: 8"
Waterline, 10"
waterline, 16" waterline, and Sand. The waterline is to be measured
linearly and the sand by area.
To add a new material, select the Add button, and the following
dialog appears. Enter the
material name, the layer that the material is on, and whether the
material is of linear, area, or count type. If the
material is of 2D Area coverage, choose a depth of feet or inches, then
enter this depth below.
If you wish setup any additional attributes, pick the Add button under User-Defined Features to access the Edit Material Feature dialog box, shown below. Here you can enter feature names and a multiplier value. In this example, we have set up a multiplier of 32.50 and named it Install Cost. This could represent the install cost for each linear foot of 8" waterline. For a completed report, see the commands Material Quantities by Layer and Material Quantities by Select described next.
