Create Ridge Polylines From Contours

Function

This command creates 3D polylines along the tops of ridges and in the bottom of drainages for more accurate modeling of the surface.

Density Multiplier: The quality of output produced by this command is directly proportional to vertex density of contour polylines. This multiplier can be used to temporarily increase contour vertex density for the duration of calculations at the cost of additional processing time. Setting this multiplier to higher values generally reduces occurrence of errors in the output.

Draw Crust Segments: Crust segments are complimentary to skeleton segments. Generally, crust segments will be nearly identical to existing contour lines.

Skeletal Extraction:
Draw None: When this setting is selected, no skeleton segments will be drawn.
Draw Ridge and valley segments: When this setting is selected, only skeleton segments that lie in ridges and valleys (i.e. between two contour lines at different elevations) will be drawn.
Summit and Pit Segments: When this setting is selected, only skeleton segments that lie in summits and pits (i.e. encircled by contour lines at same elevation) will be drawn.
All Segments: When this setting is selected, all types of skeleton segments are drawn.

Skeletal Type (Significant and Full): Significant skeleton segments are those segments that fall into flat areas of the triangulation. Use this setting to reduce the number of segments generated by this command.

Minimum Segment Count: Use this setting to prevent small segment branches from being generated. This can reduce occurrence of errors in the output.

Minimum Branch Length: Use this setting to prevent small segment branches from being generated. This can reduce occurrence of errors in the output.

Skeleton Layer: This is the layer that the skeleton polylines will be drawn in.
